NaPoWriMo Day 30
Embrace Your Light
If memory of light was lost
We would not fear the dark
But we would also lose the joy
In each small firefly’s spark
Our story is the story of
Our struggle ‘gainst the night
From fire, tallow, candles, gas
Today’s electric light.
When we feel things are going bad
Then dark our future seems
We work so hard to find the light
And hold on to our dreams.
On pitch black night a single match
From thirty miles is seen.
So desperate for that small spark
Our eyes evolved so keen.
So when the dark would eat your soul
And your whole world is night
Hold to that tiny spark within
Let nothing dim your light.
Cheers,
