Life With A Cat

With huge, cute eyes and soothing purr

You homicidal ball of fur

All teeth and claws and soft, soft hair

So balanced, poised, it’s just not fair.

There’s litter on my bathroom floor

You yowl each time I close a door

So patient wait, ‘til past I walk

Then lunge and pounce, attack my sock

To throw me off you cuddle me

Your cunning hope that I won’t see

I know your plan my fuzzy friend

For treats and scritches will pretend.

No warning sign from purr to pounce

When playing do not walk, just bounce

For all your quirks, you are my cat

And I am truly blessed by that.
